Tajweed (Accredited Academic)
Tajweed (Accredited Academic Programme)
Tajweed courses under the accredited academic programme follow structured progression and are formally accredited by the Conservation of the Holy Quran institute, an established body recognised among teaching institutes for issuing Ijazah certifications and maintaining high standards of Tajweed and recitation that trace through traditional chains of transmission (sanad).
The courses are delivered by qualified, Ijazah holding teachers and students can receive certification issued both by the Mena Trust and the external accrediting body.
The accredited Tajweed pathway delivered through the Mena Centre represents one of the most comprehensive and academically rigorous Tajweed programmes offered, designed for learners seeking depth and progression towards formal certification of Ijazah and beyond.

The Academic Tajweed and Qiraat Programme (Women) at the Mena Centre was founded and is led by Dr Fatima Muhammad, who holds multiple ijazaat in Tajweed and Qiraat from Egypt and Jordan across a number of canonical recitations. She has been teaching since the 1990s and, over the past decade, has granted ijazaat to many students across multiple narrations.
Alhamdulillah, hundreds of students from different backgrounds have attended Tajweed classes at the Mena Centre over the years, with over 75 women completing the full multi-year Academic Tajweed programme and obtaining ijazah. Many more students are currently progressing towards ijazah, including across multiple recognised narrations.
The Mena Centre has a large pool of experienced, ijazah-certified teachers who teach across the programme and supervise students pursuing ijazah. The following are selected courses within this academic pathway:
